Rant time..

Hiii! Recently in the media, various things have come to my attention...When I was in the supermarket yesterday I glanced across the magazine section and noticed a couple of stories that bothered me. I don't usually post about weight related stuff as I don't want to influence people into thinking the wrong things. Yes I do catwalking and modelling and people often say things about me being skinny. Each to their own and all entitled to their opinion.
I would like to state that this post is not bias, not pinpointing anyone or trying to hurt anyone's feelings.

Now, we all know that catwalk models tend to be pretty skinny - that's the industries idea of fashion. Fair enough I think, there are also plus size modelling so it's not like its  only for certain people. But im that's not my point anyway.

I have saw in magazines articles about Kendall Jenner.. now these articles show pictures of what an Australian magazine have published and basically deemed her too fat for the runway.
The cover of Famous magazine Photo: Famous
Yes the pictures show that she has signs of cellulite on the back of her legs. As you can see the picture on the right has better lighting and her skin looks fine, then on the left the lighting isn't so good and you can see cellulite. Reality check - Does everyone look good from every angle in any light 24/7.?

I've saw pictures of supermodels looking dreadful, but doesn't everyone at some point? Whats wrong with having days where you don't need to try? Or go out without any makeup on, hair tied up and wearing joggers? What is society when people cant be themselves? But hey, media need stories... I Googled some pics to prove how disgusting celebs can look, but what I came up with is things like drunk messes, and anyone can look a mess when they're drunk! Or greasy hair, bad makeup, surgery gone wrong, basically what other people perceive to be wrong. So I'm not going to post any pics to shame anyone because anyone can look a mess regardless of their 'social state'.

So while im on this topic, ive heard a song - all about the bass. Never heard of the singer before, the song is really catchy and I thinks its good that someone's singing about how they are confident being curvy. Its inspirational to many, I mean go ahead, parade and show that your proud of yourself however there is no need to put people down in the process. I'm talking about the things said in this song. For instance, a few quotes
'I see the magazine workin' that Photoshop, We know that shit ain't real, C'mon now, make it stop'
'You know I won't be no stick figure silicone Barbie doll, So if that's what you're into then go ahead and move along'
'Go ahead and tell them skinny bitches that, No I'm just playing.'
These particular parts stand out. Being skinny myself, to be honest I find this song insulting. Its on TV that being curvy or bigger is fine, and so is being skinny or however you are. So when people sing songs like this? Yes people will take offence. And for one, I know that the majority of photoshoots I have done aren't even photo-shopped at all, and when they have been its editing the background etc, not my figure. I wouldn't have thought that would have been her intentions to insult people, then again why sing it then? This song is skinny shaming, and for one some people are naturally skinny, that doesn't make them a b!tch. Just like being large doesn't automatically mean they're lazy.

We shouldn't be sending out messages to people that it's not okay to be skinny, it's been all over the news that the UK is increasingly becoming one of the countries with the most overweight people. However it's not okay to shame 'fat' people either. What is wrong with girls complimenting other girls? Why can't people just get along instead of firing off at people who have done no wrong? People won't be happy if everyone insults them, so why don't we compliment everyone and all help each other out?

What do you all think about all this? do you think its wrong to shame people like the magazines and songs like this have?

Aces Laces #1

Hii! sorry ive not posted for a week or so, I've been so ill! Literally only got out of bed to go to the toilet or to get a drink for about 4 days! missed 2 days at college and a day at work... Now my dads ill! -.-
As you may no already, I did enter the competition to win the ipad mini last month and did pretty well and suppose to be entering this month too... But I'm SO impatient D: it hasnt come yet and the competition closes at the end of the month and I can't enter until my box arrives; so yeah ... Come onnnn box!!! Get your giddy up! :D
So got some catching up to do ahaha

I was sent a little package from Aces Laces

containing 3 packets which were opaque and had surprise shoelace designs in. Aces Laces have series of shoes laces which people order and have no idea what design they have until they open them
The idea of the packets being opaque is that people collect, swap and share them. You could use them in your shoes, football boots, ice skates, I have friends that turn them into bracelets etc.

I opened the first packet to find a white sparkly pair, these are super cute! I'm not sure whether to put them on a pair of my boots, or even my new pair of sparkly converse shoe things - because... A girl can never have too much sparkles ;P I saw these shoes on sale and I thought they looked weird, took a closer look and though I'd actually wear them in the summer :D

Social Links:

Have you seen these products before? what do you think of this pair? would you wear them?

Please could you do me a favor? :) Please watch this YouTube video and 'like' and comment on it - on the actual link under the video. It's for a competition that ends at the end of the month, please help me out (share it on your social media platforms etc) and I will be more than happy to return the favour! :D
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sP1ds52k2is&feature=youtu.be

If you are a brand or a blogger and would like to collaborate then please do get in touch :)
I am going planning a giveaway too, I'm not sure whether to to separate ones or maybe a giveaway featuring a couple of different brands - get in touch if your interested. I'll host the giveaway on this blog and apply a rafflecopter where entrants must follow both our twitters and join this blog. We can all tweet about it too, so yeah if you like the sound of that then tweet me - @sammigirl1994 :)

If you haven't already, please join as a member on this blog, you can do that under the followers tab at the top of the right sidebar and you can join with your email, twitter or blogger/google+ accounts :) I have competitions coming up (Including where you can win clothes, makeup, jewellery etc! So hurry up and join so you can enter!) and you must be a member to enter, if you haven't joined your entry is invalid :D

Line Cutout ring from Hottt.com #blogmas

Hiii! I'm usually in college yesterday and today so there wouldn't usually be posts, but my teacher is in Paris with the class below mine. Sooo that means my class doesn't have to go in :D but she has got a teacher to stand in on Thursday so I have to go in that day, I hope I'm feeling better for then! I've been ill for over a week now! Bored of it, I haven't eaten chocolate in over a week, that's bad. I mean if I say I don't want chocolate everyone is like oh my god! Seriously, I usually eat a lottt of chocolate! :o

If you haven't saw the first #blogmas post you can read that one here, basically I'm going to be posting anything Christmas related on the run up to Christmas. That could be nail art, fashion, gift ideas, discount codes, decorations, anything! :D if that sounds good you should join this blog to be kept up to date with future posts and the #blogmas run up - you can join with your twitter, blogger or email under the followers tab somewhere over there on the right side bar over there ----------->

I got this cutout ring from hottt.com - I have done posts before about them, they re-branded from hotttshit.com you can read that here. The ring came in a golden parcel bag with the small gift box inside.

The ring is different to what I would usually wear. It's quite plain and simple. In fact its very plain and simple! But I guess at the same time that makes it look effective because its so minimal. This ring would go with almost any outfit, you can't go wrong with this simplistic design.

The ring is quite big, it gives the effect that your wearing 5 thin rings but your actually only wearing one! This ring would make a lovely gift for your family/friends for Christmas...
or if you would like something more glam but at a low price you could get this golden rhinestone tag bracelet - that is my favourite item so far from hottt.com
Or this Lion bracelet is just gorgeous! both of these bracelets have chunky chains - love!
All of the jewellery on this post - the ring and the bracelets will look great worn at Christmas, you could go casual or dress them up with a little black dress.

You can get this ring for $13.00 here, but they ship worldwide - I'm from the UK and I've got mine :)

What do you think of this ring? Which piece from this post is your favourite?

If you haven't already, please join as a member on this blog, you can do that under the followers tab at the top of the right sidebar and you can join with your email, twitter or blogger/google+ accounts :) I have a competition coming up and you must be a member to enter :D

Heel-less platforms from SkyScraperHeels.co.uk

It some sort of adventure to walk in heel-less platforms, but this new unconventional way to wear heels is all in the talk! We have seen loads of celebrities hit the red carpet looking like they're walking on air, now we are seeing them hit the street. I'm not really sure what people call these shoes, Ive searched the internet and found people saying 'heelless shoes' 'hoof shoes' 'platforms' 'gravity defying heels' and so on, I'm just going to call them platforms - since they don't have the heel.

Lady GaGa wearing some studded arch platforms, I'm not so keen on this pair but she wears so many, as we all know shes had quite a few falls but she sure does rock her shoes!

Lady Gaga in platforms for a photo shoot.

Nicole Scherzinger wore Giuseppe Zanotti Platforms

Lucy Hale wore Giuseppe Zanotti Platforms at the Teen Choice Awards

Nicki Minaj wore some amazing, sparkly Platforms for her perfume ads.

Kerry Hilson in Giuseppe Zanotte

I don't like Victoria Justice's dress but her Giuseppe Zanotte platforms are nice!

The evolution of these heels has come so far it's erased the actual heel all together, making it seem impossible to walk in. When infact it's pretty simple! Stars like Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Victoria Beckham and Nicki Minaj have been seen wearing these shoes and walking fine like they're in trainers. I've shown my friends these heels and they think they wouldn't be able to walk in them, I think that if you can walk in high heels, you've got a pretty good chance of walking fine in this style. As for one of my friends.. She thought she should try on some plain high heels in New Look's changing rooms. I could tell she couldn't walk in heels at all, then she only went and fell, went flying past the curtains and into the mirror! The girls in the other changing rooms came out to see what had happened since she fell with such a bang!... She will never live that down ;) If your like her, and not good at walking in heels, I'd suggest you practice in normal heels before you jump into a pair of these platforms.

The heels above are from Sky Scraper Heels - They are now in collaboration with ffh too! :D
These shoes are from their 'gaga' range, they are available in a sliver sparkly colour, black suede, nude suede, leopard suede and red suede.
I didn't no which pair to pick from this range as they are all amazing, so I ended up going for a sparkly pair ;D They are 6'2 inch high with spike detail running down the back of the heel, I think that's the perfect finishing touch.

Now as many people have said they look impossible to walk in. They're not. I don't have much space in my room to show you properly either so below I've just filmed a quick thing below of them in a very small space! Notice I don't fall once! I've tried to show the shoes from different angles so you can see what they're like.
You can get these heels here for £24.99
Here is Sky Scraper Heels Twitter

What do you think of these heels from Sky Scraper Heels? Have you tried walking in this style of shoe? Have you got a pair?

The Lady Is A Vamp

It's October... That means Halloween is coming! If your feeling the vibe you might want to check this out!
Selena Gomez previously wore this lace Gothic dress which I think is so on trend right now. I think the short at the front and long at the back is a really nice style and means you don't have to reveal to much. - This is a style that so many stores on the high street are inspired by and are now recreating this kind of look, especially with the lace on the neck, although I think some stores are going a little OTT with the lace necks.

Three of the Saturdays vamped it up..
lashings of black lace and dark vampy makeup, they almost look like they're from a scene from ace 90s Gothic chic flick The Craft! (That's is a good thing)

Below I have selected some vampy looks from Daisy Street

1. Playsuit - £22.99
2. Black glitter skirt - £16.99
3. Jumpsuit - £29.99. This jumpsuit would look great with lots of gold bracelets and/or arm cuff.
4. Velvet dress - £16.99
5. Split Maxi - £14.99

If you like the vamp trend, there are many ways you can wear this without going full on goth - unless you want to go full on goth of course. You could wear a vampy outfit, with natural makeup. You could add vampy accessories to everyday outfits, I find myself wearing big studs and spikes as a casual look but it gives your outfit that edge. Vamp looks great as evening wear with lashings of gold jewellery too.

If you like the vampy makeup from most of the pictures above, I found a video on YouTube (it's not mine) The video belongs to MissSenay1, she has loads more makeup tutorials inspired by celebrity looks, trends and Halloween special effects. If you like this tutorial, please go subscribe to her :)

What do you think of the Vamp trend?

I'm starting back at college on Tuesday *booooooo* :(
So I will be pretty busy, but don't worry, the blog will keep going, I will just have to swap the schedule around a little. I'm not really looking forward to going back to college, I mean I was because I miss some of my friends, but, like, well, some people just annoy me. I can't help it, I won't go into details but, I like to have a laugh and if people are just -.- then no, just no. Like my closest friends who I haven't saw the whole of the holidays, we insult each other all the time, it's just banter :D and... Raggae efunzee onesie

I was sent a hooded adult onesie in the Reggae style from efunzee. I'm really liking these onesies I get sent! It can get pretty cold here, especially where we go on a short holiday up north. I also like the super thick ones that you can go outside in the snow in, although I see people wearing onesies just wherever, like shopping, cinema, bowling, concerts, festivals etc.
I went ice skating last week, I'd only been once before when I was younger, I can't roller skate so I thought I would be hopeless. I was right. I kept catching the front of the skates on the ice and going flying into the windows. THEN I got brave and had let go of the walls for about 3 laps, then on the fourth I decided to go straight through the middle of the ice rink. I shouted my little brother saying I'm Skating I'm skating! next think I was shouting I'm going to fall! and BAM flat on my back, thought I broke my butt knuckle! :/ Were going to go again this week so I can practice -.-
Back to the point.. There was people wearing onesies on the ice rink, I suppose that's a good idea, I was wearing skinny jeans which don't have any padding if you fall, but I like my skinnies -.-

The onesie is made of 100% soft jersey cotton so its super comfy! It has a hood for the extra warmth, cuffed ankles so there's a snug for and you can also slip your shoes on easily too. there's big low pockets so you can keep your hands nice and warm with the slouchy look.
The sizes go from petite to XXLarge, just check their sizing chart to find your fit :)

I was also sent these socks which have stripes that match the Reggae onesie,They fit really nicely and have non-slip 'fun' writing on the underneath of the foot.

Yes.. I'm strange I know ;P
I put on this onesie and started walking around the house like a goof! it's super comfortable, and the pattern is very effective. In fact, my little brother who insisted on trying out the carpet skates I was sent tried this on because he liked it.. The butt bit was just above his ankles ahaa! And when he walked! I should actually get a picture because he looked really funny! :)

you can get this Reggae onesie here for £28.95
You can get the socks here for only £2.00 when purchased with a onesie

Do you like this onesie? Do you like onesies? Do you have one like this?

efoxcity picks

They sell mostly wedding apparel, fashionable clothing and Korean style ladies apparel - which I am loving at the moment from online clothing stores! They know that we want unique and special clothing and jewellery etc so they keep their stock updated. They have a huge range of clothing and jewellery and all at low prices! They provide fantastic customer service, so you relax knowing you will get your orders and response as soon as possible. They have wedding dresses under $100 and drop ship clothing.

I am going to share with you some of the the things that caught my eye...

1. White chiffon dress. 11.99/£7.76 - I like this dress because its quite casual and classy, the white chiffon with the pale blue go really well together. It reminds me of when we went to Italy, there were lots of people wearing dresses in this style.
3. Slim long sleeve purple leopard dress. 17.24/£11.16 - I love this dress, you can dress it up, or dress it down a little. It would even look nice in the winter with some thick black tights or leggings with boots and a jacket.

All of these rings are either super cute, or the bullet dual ring is perfect for adding that edgy accessory to an outfit. Look at those prices too!

The first necklace reminds me of the coins from a belly dancing skirt which I saw in Turkey, it's a beautiful piece of jewellery.

Do you like any of these picks? Which is your favourite?
